
Marc Lubitz MD
Dr. Lubitz is a fellowship trained surgeon specializing in shoulder, knee, and elbow surgery and any sports related injury. He has specialized training in shoulder replacement surgery. He performs ultrasound guided injections for many conditions including arthritis and tendon injuries. He offers PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections as well. In addition, he provides coverage as an on-call orthopaedic surgeon providing fracture care at multiple area trauma centers.
Shoulder Surgery
Dr. Lubitz performs sports shoulder replacement surgery including both anatomic and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty and revision procedures. He also performs arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, labral repair for dislocations, fracture surgery, and others.





Knee Surgery
Dr. Lubitz performs sports related knee surgery including ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, and other ligamentous reconstruction procedures. He also performs cartilage restoration procedures with the goal of preventing knee degeneration. When necessary he performs both partial and total knee replacements and provides injections for patients with arthritis who are not yet ready for surgery. For his knee replacements he utilizes robotic assisted technology.
Elbow Surgery
Dr. Lubitz performs elbow ligamentous reconstruction surgery for athletes including baseball players, football players, wrestlers, gymnasts, and others. He also treats distal biceps tendon ruptures and tennis elbow. He provides PRP injections for tennis elbow as well.





Fracture Care
Dr. Lubitz provides on-call emergency orthopaedic services for fracture at Bethesda North, Good Samaritan, and Bethesda Butler hospitals. He also treats non emergent fractures like clavicle fractures and ankle fractures with outpatient surgery.
